The following guidelines are designed to ensure that Autism Queensland (AQ) effectively supports our fundraisers while maximizing the impact of their efforts. If you have any questions, please contact fundraise@autismqld.com.au .

Anyone wishing to fundraise for AQ—whether an individual, organization, or group—must accept the following guidelines in accordance with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading Fundraising Guidelines and register their event or fundraising activity with us. These terms may be updated periodically.

What we can do to help
As a participant raising funds for Autism Queensland, we offer a range of resources and support, detailed in our Fundraising Guide, available on our resources page.
 
What We Cannot Do to Help
Provide on-site staff or volunteer support at your event, extend our tax exemption to you; provide insurance coverage, solicit sponsorship revenue or goods for your fundraising activities; provide publicity through newspapers, radio, or TV; share mailing lists of donors, staff, employees, volunteers, or vendors; approach AQ corporate partners for event sponsorship.

General
1.1. Permission to Contact You – By registering for 10K or 10 Your Way, you consent to Autism Queensland contacting you regarding your participation in the challenge and future AQ initiatives. You may opt out at any time.
1.2. Content Created by 10K or 10 Your Way – You are permitted to download materials from the resources page on our website. However, you may not copy or reproduce any graphics, logos, or other content from our website without explicit permission.
1.3. Content Created/Posted by You – You are responsible for ensuring that anyone featured in content you submit to AQ has granted media permissions. AQ is allowed to use any media content directly submitted and share any content online that they are tagged in. If you wish to create your own promotional material, you must use the "Proudly Supporting AQ" logo. Any content featuring the official AQ logo must be approved by AQ before publication.
1.4. Donation Refund Policy – If you’ve made a donation by mistake, we are happy to offer a refund. To request a refund, please reach out to us using the contact details provided in the Contact Us section of our website.
1.5. Privacy Statement – Autism Queensland is dedicated to safeguarding your privacy. The primary reason we collect your personal information is to provide our services, personalize our communications, and strengthen our relationship with you. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.
1.6. AQ Representative – A representative from AQ may attend your event depending on availability and the location of your event. At least four weeks’ notice is required. If you would like to make a formal cheque presentation to AQ, we would be happy to discuss this with you. A novelty AQ-branded cheque can be provided subject to availability.
1.7. Permits – Permits are required by the Council for outdoor events. Please contact your local Council representative if you wish to hold an outdoor event. If your event or fundraising activity involves the sale of alcohol, please be aware of government regulations. Advice should be sought from the Department of Tourism and Racing Liquor Licensing Division. Information on the regulations can be found at https://www.business.qld.gov.au.
1.8. AQ Brand – You, the fundraiser, must not conduct activities that could bring AQ’s reputation into disrepute in any way. This includes actions on social media platforms. If AQ concludes that your activities are not in line with the AQ brand, an AQ representative may terminate your fundraising permission.
1.9. Health and Safety – Participants are responsible for ensuring that their participation in 10K or 10 Your Way is safe and suitable for their level of fitness. AQ is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage sustained as a result of participation in the challenge.
1.11. Age Restrictions – Participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to participate in the challenge. By registering a minor, the parent or guardian confirms they have reviewed and accepted the terms and conditions on behalf of the minor.
1.12. Use of Funds – All funds raised through 10K or 10 Your Way must be transferred to Autism Queensland in full. These funds will be used to support AQ’s services and initiatives as outlined on our website. Event
2.1. Event Period – The event is officially open from 1 October – 31 October. Fundraisers are permitted to fundraise outside of these dates; however, winners will be determined on 1 November. Any funds raised outside this period will not be considered when determining the highest fundraisers.
2.2. Entry Validity – Autism Queensland reserves the right to reject entries made using false information or entries that tamper with the entry process.
2.3. Winner Notification – Winners will be contacted via email or phone and must confirm acceptance of the prize within 14 business days. Winners must claim the prize within the specified time frame and meet the requirements outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
2.4. Tie-Breaker Clause – In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined based on the participant who registered for the competition first, i.e., who has been fundraising for the longer period.

Prizes
3.1 Results and Prizes – AQ reserves the right to verify the results and accuracy of all fundraising amounts. Prizes are awarded based on the conditions outlined on the event website and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to another person.

3.2 Prize Values – Prize values are in Australian dollars and are correct at the time of preparation of these Terms and Conditions.

3.3 Liability – AQ is not liable for any damage, delay, or expenses related to the prizes.

3.4 Prize Information – Detailed prize information is provided on the website. The prize structure outlined on the website is final for the competition. Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable.
