Fundraising Guidelines & Terms and Conditions
By registering a fundraising activity with Autism Queensland (AQ), you agree to the following guidelines and conditions.
1. Authority to Fundraise

All fundraising activities are conducted in your own name and at your own risk.

You do not represent Autism Queensland and must not act or speak on AQ’s behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring your activity complies with all relevant Federal and State laws, including Queensland fundraising legislation.

AQ is legally required to register all fundraising activities. You must register your event online prior to commencing fundraising. This can be done online via the website or with an Authority to Fundraise form.

AQ reserves the right to approve or refuse any fundraising activity at its discretion.

2. About Autism Queensland
AQ is one of Australia’s largest and longest-established providers of specialist services for autistic people of all ages and their communities. AQ delivers evidence-informed supports including allied health and diagnostic assessments, individual and group therapy supports, early childhood intervention, specialised education, supported independent living, professional development, parent education, employment services, and inclusion consultancy services. These services are delivered statewide face-to-face at physical sites across Queensland, online via Telepractice, or out in the community through outreach services.
3. Termination of Authority
AQ may, at any time and at its sole discretion, withdraw approval to fundraise, effective immediately, by written notice if your activity:

Breaches these terms,

Poses a reputational, legal or financial risk to AQ, or
-
Is inconsistent with AQ’s values or brand.
4. What AQ Can and Can’t Do
AQ can:

Provide general advice and planning guidance.

Supply resources to assist with promoting of your fundraiser or promote on social media (where possible and subject to discretion).

Provide certificates of appreciation upon request.
-
Issue:
AQ cannot:
-
Provide staff or volunteers for your event.
- Provide funding or monetary support for your event.
-
Extend its tax-exempt status to you.
-
Provide insurance or cover public liability.
-
Source sponsorship, prizes or goods on your behalf.
-
Provide publicity or media coverage.
-
Share AQ databases or contact lists.
-
Approach AQ corporate partners for sponsorship.
5. Financial Responsibilities

All fundraising activities must be self-funded.
-
AQ is not liable for any losses, expenses or shortfalls.
-
You must keep accurate financial records, including income, expenses, raffles and banking details.
-
No more than 30% of gross proceeds may be used to cover expenses.
-
All funds raised, along with the completed fundraising record form, must be submitted to AQ within four (4) weeks of the event’s conclusion (if receiving online donations through official registered page, you do not need to complete this).

7. Marketing, Media and Use of AQ Branding & Subsidary Brands

Fundraising activities must not be promoted as an “Autism Queensland event”.

Acceptable wording includes:

You can use our official Supporters logo on any marketing collateral you create, once your event is registered. This can be found our resources page.

Use of the official AQ logo requires written approval prior to printing or distribution.
-
AQ logos, key messages, or branding must not be altered or distorted in any way. Use of logo must not defame or go against AQ's values and purpose in any way.
8. Social Media
You are encouraged to promote your fundraising activity through online activities. All online activity must align with AQ's values and reputation.
Ensure you tag @autismqueensland in your social media posts so we can see and share these where appropriate and possible (subject to discretion).
We can:
- Share your activites on official AQ social media channels (where possible, suitable, and subject to discretion).
9. Media and Public Relations

You may promote your fundraiser to local media, provided you do not speak on behalf of AQ.

AQ must be notified prior to contacting major media outlets.

All media releases must be approved by AQ before distribution.

AQ cannot generate PR for individual fundraising activities.

10. Raffles, Permits and Collections

You are responsible for obtaining any required permits or approvals. Local council permits are required for outdoor events.

Raffles must comply with Queensland regulations based on prize value.

AQ does not permit door-to-door appeals, street collections or telephone solicitation.

Alcohol sales must comply with Queensland liquor licensing laws. AQ does not endorse or support illegal or dangerous consumption of alcohol.
11. Public Liability

You are solely responsible for public safety and public liability insurance.
-
AQ does not provide insurance cover for fundraising activities.
-
Ensure venues used have appropriate insurance in place.
12. Cause Related Marketing
Cause Related Marketing (CRM) involves promoting a product or service where a portion of proceeds is donated to AQ.

All CRM proposals require prior written approval.
-
AQ reserves the right to refuse any CRM activity.
-
Administration of CRM activities remains the responsibility of the fundraiser.
13. Brand and Conduct
Fundraisers must not engage in activities that may damage AQ’s reputation or brand, including online conduct.
AQ reserves the right to withdraw fundraising approval if activities are deemed inconsistent with AQ’s values.
14. Marketing Consent
By registering a fundraising activity with Autism Queensland, you consent to receiving communications from Autism Queensland.
This may include methods including but not limited to email and SMS.
You may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of any communication.
Collection of your data is in accordance with AQ's Privacy Policy and in accordance with all applicable laws.
