I’m showing my #TrueColours for Autism Month!
After years of questioning, therapy, misdiagnosis, at the age of 44 ( and a bit), I was diagnosed as having not only ADHD but Autism - Level 2. Yes it’s a relief but, it’s also highlighted a huge barrier in getting a diagnosis ( testing still relies on testing meant for kids and not high masking adults, ( especially Women), a HUGE gap in healthcare providers using correct terms and also accommodating needs, and how it affects us being able to self advocate, communicate and get the supports we need.
