The Big Ride for Autism

By Ben Rolfe

Iโ€™m helping people on the autism spectrum to live a life of inclusion and participation and I hope you will join me!

We all have challenges in our lives, but for people on the autism spectrum these challenges are often with things we take for granted like communicating, making friends, or knowing how to behave appropriately.ย

Please donate to my page and join me in raising awareness and money for Autism Queensland to help them continue their work in supporting people on the spectrum to live a life of participation, opportunity and choice.

My Updates

My Big Ride for Autism

Tuesday 9th Aug
Sonja and Jessica are the two Amazing women at Autism Queensland i first made contact with before i started my ride. They created my page and have been hard at work behind the scenes doing the work they are passionate about. They now have a copy of the certificate of my crossing of the Nullarbor for Autism Awareness, it has been a privilege to do this on behalf of such a great charity, thankyou for all of your support and checking in as i made my way across the country, i am looking forward to the next adventure with you all at Autism Queensland๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฆ–

A broken rear derailleur and multiple broken spokes had temporarily put the ride on hold. I was 1383kilometres away from Fremantle when this happened near Mundrabilla, i loaded the bike into a friends van and we drove to Esperance to find a bicycle shop and with no success and being told parts would take a week and a half to arrive we kept searching. We drove to Albany and then past Fremantle eventually finding a bicycle shop on the northside of Perth, and while waiting the weekend we decided to do some sight seeing before collecting the bike and driving the 1383kilometres back to where i broke down so i could finish the ride properly.

Final checklist of the things i will need, and now ready for the big ride๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฆ–

My big ride for Autism 2022

Sunday 27th Mar
Hello ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ˜Š

My name is Ben Rolfe, i have a Nephew who shares his life with Autism, and it is on his behalf and for the many who live life with Autism that i have made the choice to do what is being called the "Big Ride". I also want to show and prove to my Nephew through my example as a role model in his life that anything we set our minds to is absolutely possible and that what we dream to do or want to be in life can become reality.

On the 18/04/2022 i will be starting from the Point Cartwright Lighthouse in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast and will cycle approximately 4500 kilometres across the country to Western Australia, finishing in Fremantle at the North Mole Lighthouse. My Nephew absolutely loves dinosaurs so i will be taking one of his favourites ( T- Rex ) with me as a mascot for the cause๐Ÿฆ–ย

I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you๐Ÿ˜Š

Sincerelyย

Ben
