In a world filled with extraordinary young people, Jaxson stands out as a shining example of resilience, creativity, and the boundless possibilities of the human spirit. At just 15 years old, Jaxson is a remarkable teenager with a heart full of dreams, an unwavering love for animals, a green thumb, and an immense passion for Michael Jackson's music. But there's more to his story than meets the eye.

Jaxson is not your typical teenager. He faces the daily challenges of autism, ADHD, anxiety, and sensory processing difficulties. Yet, what truly defines Jaxson is his radiant happiness, unwavering confidence, and his determination to make a difference in this world. He's a student at AQ School's Sunnybank campus, and he's on a mission to empower others through his talents.

Last year, Jaxson accomplished something incredible. He produced a heartfelt song, a testament to his resilience and his refusal to let his diagnosis define him. With the support of his dedicated helper, a musician, sound producer, and sound engineer, Jaxson brought his song to life in a recording studio. " I had always wanted to write a song, and while it was harder than I thought, I got through it,” said Jaxson.

The result is a soul-stirring song that reminds us all that we should never define people by their conditions. Jaxson's music is a powerful reminder that, beyond the labels and diagnoses, every individual has a unique and beautiful story to tell.

It's even more remarkable when we learn that music wasn't always a source of comfort for Jaxson. In his earlier years, it was quite the opposite. His mother, Rebecca, recalls how Jaxson's struggles led them to AQ School, a turning point in their lives. "Jaxson was almost catatonic when we moved him from his old school. AQ has changed our life," she shares.

Jaxson, in his own words, remembers being anxious and uncertain about the transition to AQ School. He wondered if he would fit in. Fast forward five years, and this gentle, thoughtful young boy has found his place in the world. He describes school as a wonderful part of his life, a place where he feels happy, safe, and, above all, has fun.

AQ School is a beacon of hope for students like Jaxson. It's an autism-friendly institution that supports students from Prep to Year 12 with small classes, a consistent learning environment, and personalised support. With two campuses in Brisbane and one in Cairns, AQ School is making a difference in the lives of countless young individuals.

When asked what he loves most about his school, Jaxson first mentions a recent activity where he and his classmates dismantled old computers and prepared the components for resale. A close second, and with a twinkle in his eye, was Chica, one of two assistance dogs at the school. "It is so relaxing and fun having the dogs here," he says. "They do tricks, play ball, and we can just spend quiet time with them. And if any of us are feeling overwhelmed, the dogs can help us find our calm."

Let this holiday season be a reminder that the greatest gifts we can give are those that empower others to shine their brightest.

As we approach this festive season, we invite you to join us in supporting AQ School's vital mission. Your generous contribution can help young, talented individuals like Jaxson continue to thrive, dream, and redefine what's possible. Together, we can make a real difference in their lives.
